MÁLAGA IN HISTORY
The city was founded by the Phoenicians, who built a village near the hill where now stands the Alcazaba. During Roman times, enjoyed the privilege Malaga Confederate city of Rome.
The city experienced one of its most progressive stages under the control of the Arabs. In 1487 the city was conquered by the Catholic Monarchs. This was a period of unstoppable decline.
In the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, in an upper middle class Málaga born around two families: that of the Larios and Heredia, who turned the city into the second industrial center of our country.
Today Malaga is still growing. The great miracle of Málaga has been the development of the Costa del Sol, which has become the world capital of tourism.  |
